Who we are
Quiet Shopper is run by Cameron Cornelius, an individual based in Malta (“we”, “us”). We are responsible for the personal data described here. Contact us at hello@quietshopper.com.
What we collect and where it comes from
- Business contact details of people at online stores we contact: name, job title and business email address. We take these from the company’s own website or other public business sources.
- Messages you send us, and the details in them.
- Client details for businesses that buy our service: contact name, business email and billing details.
When we test a store’s chatbot, we use our own test names and test email addresses. We do not collect data about a store’s customers. If we see any by accident, we delete it and tell the store.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To contact businesses about our service and send them their free report. Legal basis: our legitimate interests in offering a relevant service to businesses. We contact companies, not individual consumers or sole traders.
- To reply to you. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
- To provide paid services. Legal basis: performing our contract with you.
Your right to object to marketing
You can tell us at any time to stop contacting you. Reply “no thanks” to any email, or write to hello@quietshopper.com. We will stop, and keep only your email address on a do-not-contact list so that we never contact you again.
How long we keep it
- Business contacts who do not become clients: up to 12 months after our last contact, then deleted.
- Do-not-contact list: for as long as we send emails.
- Snapshot test evidence (transcripts and screenshots): 90 days, unless the store becomes a client.
- Client data: for the length of the contract plus 90 days, unless the law requires longer (for example, invoices).
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data. We use a small number of service providers to run our business:
- Hostinger: email and website hosting.
- Anthropic: an AI assistant (Claude) we use to run tests and prepare reports.
Some providers may process data outside the UK and the European Economic Area. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards in their terms, such as standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive it in a portable format. Email hello@quietshopper.com and we will reply within one month.
You can also complain to a data protection authority: in Malta, the Information and Data Protection Commissioner; in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office.
